Old mattresses and box springs turn up in the strangest places. You can find them at the bottom of a lake, the side of the road, in the classified ads of the newspaper, on Craigslist and behind commercial dumpsters. Obviously, people don’t know how to dispose of a mattress. That’s where we can help! Let us haul your old mattress and box spring away, so you can get on to a better night’s sleep.

In the mean time, here’s some information to help you determine when it’s time to swap your old mattress out for a new one.

“With most products, it’s fairly obvious when a replacement is needed. If it no longer works or has signs of wear and tear that impair its functionality, you know it’s time for a new one. However, realizing that it is time for mattress replacement and new foundation isn’t always so obvious. Similar to your favorite old chair or worn pair of shoes, your mattress can still feel somewhat comfortable long after it has lost its ability to provide your body with the proper support and comfort it needs. Because sleep is so critical to our ability to function and feel our best, it is important to evaluate your sleep set on a regular basis to know when your sleep is compromised and to replace mattress accessories as well.

Signs that You May Need a New Mattress & Foundation (boxspring):

• You wake up with stiffness, numbness, aches and pains

• You had a better night’s sleep somewhere other than your own bed (such as a hotel)

• Your mattress shows visible signs of overuse (it sags, has visible tearing, ripping, holes, staining, or damage)

• You are tired after a full night's sleep

• Your mattress is seven years old or older*

*How long a mattress will last depends on several factors, such as amount of use and the original quality, but in general, a mattress set that has been in use for seven years is no longer providing you with the best comfort and support and should be replaced. Keep in mind that everyone’s body changes over time, and the need for comfort and support only increases with age. That’s why it’s a good idea to compare the mattress and foundation you are sleeping on now to newer models every few years.”

Unlike most options involved in daily choices and decisions, opting for a professional junk removal crew versus a traditional dumpster has no cons! Here are most of the pros, in no specific order or relevance -

1. We do all the bending, loading and heavy lifting! You just have to point and tell us what goes.

2. You won't have a dumpster sitting in your yard or driveway for days waiting to be picked up and hauled away, and there is no worrying if your lawn or driveway surface underneath will survive the experience.

3. Our one-time charge includes all labor, truck and disposal costs - so you don't have to worry about any extra or added fees on top of your free quote from us.

4. You have the option to make payment over the phone if your items are outside for pickup, so you can go about your daily activites and come home to find that your items magically disappeared during the work day. Or, you can always pay on site if items are inside and you'll be home. Payment is rendered upon completion, when you're satisfied with the work we've done.

5. We've competitively priced our services versus dumpsters of the same size. So, let us take care of your junk removal needs at the same rate! You won't regret saving your time and energy.

If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know. We look forward to booking your junk's departure soon!

Recycling is the process of collecting and treating used or waste materials – which would otherwise be thrown away as trash – to make them suitable for reuse or turn them into new products. Recycling benefits individuals, communities and our environment.

Recycling not only reduces the amount of waste sent to landfills and incinerators, but also conserves natural resources, prevents pollution, saves energy, reduces greenhouse gas emissions and helps create new jobs in recycling and manufacturing industries. Efficiently operated recycling programs cost less to operate than standard waste collection and disposal, and the industry has created over 1.1 million jobs nationwide. There are 4 recycling jobs created for every one position in the waste management and disposal industry.

* An estimated 80 million Hershey's Kisses are wrapped each day, using enough aluminum foil to cover over 50 acres of space. All that foil is recyclable, but not many people realize it.

* Rainforests are being cut down at the rate of 100 acres per minute.

* One quart of motor oil, if disposed of improperly, can contaminate up to 2 million gallons of fresh water.

* On average, each person produces 4.4 pounds of trash each day, adding up to almost a ton of trash per person, per year.

* A typical family consumes 182 gallons of soda, 29 gallons of juice, 104 gallons of milk, and 26 gallons of bottled water a year. That's a lot of containers able to be recycled!

Before spending the last eighteen years as a District Manager for the largest waste management company in America, I was a licensed commercial pilot and flight instructor. Now, my crew and I are flying into the junk removal and recycling business. My plan is to truly make one man’s junk another man’s treasure, by recycling and donating as much as possible to local charities and organizations rather than taking everything directly to a disposal facility. With my years of waste management experience and contacts, I guarantee to handle materials in an eco-friendly way, with a crew providing quality customer service and satisfaction.

The Weekly Flight Report

"Atlanta Junk Pilot is a great company. They were on time and very quick with their service. They also have very reasonable prices. I would definitely recommend them and use them again!"
